Who You Say I Am, Jenny Eickbush

July 3 & August 7, 2026 | 6–9pm

Who You Say I Am explores the lies Jenny Eickbush believed about her identity in her late teens and early 20s: that she was useless, broken, and unlovable. Each of the ten mixed-media paintings confronts one of those lies, pairing personal wounds with scripture that exposes their falseness. A boyfriend said, "You are a burden to love." A teacher said, "You will never succeed." But God says, "You are my masterpiece." (Ephesians 2:10)

The work moves with the fluid, dreamlike quality of ballet; sweeping waves of paint and lyrical figures that reach back across time, gently enfolding her younger self rather than leaving her behind. Eickbush hopes the collection sparks conversation about our true value in Christ, and the lies we all believe about our inadequacies.
